We already had Facebook Shopping (showing products from webshops on Facebook that links to the webshop, where it can be bought).
Facebook Shops is different. Shops is a fully-fledged webshop function within Facebook and that has a few major advantages:
- Pay directly in Facebook or Instagram.
- People don't have to click through to external website.
- Augmented reality becomes available in Shops. For example: you upload sunglasses and with the telephone camera your target group can 'virtually fit' these glasses.
- Facebook immediately releases its algorithm on your products, in order to match the most suitable audience with the offer.
- From now on, Retargeting has much larger target groups and it's easier to achieve better results
